Combining a successful background in the fashion industry, media relations and event organization, Mary Symons runs her own communications company, specializing in luxury brands.

Ms. Symons began her career as a fashion model. Based in Paris, she worked with leading fashion houses in Europe, Canada and the Orient.

Upon returning to Canada, Ms. Symons entered the field of media and public relations. She held the position of Public Relations Director for a successful Canadian designer and following that managed national media relations and promotions for a leading women’s wear retailer.

Starting her own company was a natural progression and she now handles a wide cross section of clients. Most recently, Mary Symons Communications has worked on events and media for Moet Hennessy, Backes and Strauss Diamond Merchants, Myles Mindham Fine Jewellery, Bang & Olufsen Canadian

Flagship launch, The Fashion Design Council of Canada, Jamieson Vitamins, Luxury Toronto based properties and retailers, inclusive of: The Windsor Arms Hotel, Moroco, Teatro Verde, Indiva Womans Wear, Corbo 119, The Room, The Four Seasons and Ritz Groups. In the past year she has also helped to oversee the Vanity Fair Exhibition opening Gala at the ROM, The unprecedented British Invasion Designer Gala for The Room at The Bay and the opening of the first in store Veuve Clicquot Boutique in Canada and the US.

A graduate of Havergal College in Toronto, Ms. Symons holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University and successfully completed the Styles in Art program at Sotheby’s in London, England. As well as overseeing the curatorial duties of her family foundation art holdings Ms. Symons also sits on the Bata Shoe Museum board. She is a past member of the Ryerson University School of Fashion Program Advisory Council as well she is past Chair of the Board for the Toronto Fashion Incubator.
